community service
Whether it’s for school, court, or through a work program, Chatham Habitat is a great way to complete your required volunteer hours, while learning some valuable new skills and building connections along the way!
If you are completing court-ordered community service, we ask that you provide us with a copy of your charges via email to mzornow@chathamhabitat.org. (A photo from your phone works fine). When submitting this the entire page must be clear and legible.

Please note that charges involving violence, assault, harassment or weapons possession will not be considered, and charges of larceny will disqualify you from serving your hours at the ReStore.

In an effort to ensure the safety of our staff and volunteers, Chatham Habitat reserves the right to refuse community service for any reason to any individual, not limited to those charges listed above.
Ready to get started?

-
Register your volunteer account on VolunteerHub - here you'll provide contact information and e-sign a waiver.
-
If you are under the age of 18, you will need to print the waiver and have a parent/guardian sign it. Please bring this to the site/store on your first day. If you do not have a signed waiver, you cannot be on site.
-
ReStore Volunteers must complete an online orientation HERE
-
Once you have completed your orientation, you can sign up for ReStore shifts. Please allow up to 1 business day for the orientation completion to reflect on your VolunteerHub account.
-
Construction volunteers do not need to complete the ReStore orientation- a safety briefing will take place at the beginning of every day on site.
-
All volunteer shifts will be listed on VolunteerHub, and you can log in there to check your hours.
-
In VolunteerHub, click on the shifts on the calendar and follow the instructions here to sign for all your shifts.
-
Please do not show up for shifts you are not registered for. This is how we prepare for the day and if you are not signed up, staff may have to send you home without your hours for the day.
Once you’ve accrued all the hours you need, email mzornow@chathamhabitat.org and we will send you a signed letter on the organization’s letterhead.
We appreciate those who choose to serve their hours with Chatham Habitat for any reason, and strive to treat everyone with respect. If you have any feedback about your experience with us, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Contact our Volunteer Program Manager, Matt Zornow at mzornow@chathamhabitat.org.
We’re looking forward to working with you!
