On May 7th, more than 25 women volunteered at our Construction site. We spend the day in two groups:one working on siding and painting at the house on S. Evergreen Street in Siler City, and the rest framing at the house on Lakewood Drive.
Whoever said that women couldn’t do everything that men can do has never met this group! Their energy was unstoppable, and we got a ton of great work done together.
Women Build is a national program that is sponsored by Lowe’s Home Improvement and brings women of all walks of life together to build safe, decent, affordable housing in their communities.
Thanks to all the hardworking women who came out to help us build, to the folks at Lowe’s for sending out local representatives to join us, and to the Habitat men for serving a great lunch!
