We're having a dedication!

Chatham Habitat has not had an in-person dedication since March of 2020, and we are thrilled to announce that's about to change! If you've never been to a dedication, they are the single best way to see the impact of Chatham Habitat's work. We'll celebrate years of work by our staff, donors, and volunteers, but most importantly, we'll honor the Pavon-Villalobos Family and celebrate this huge moment in their lives. There will be food, cake, and probably a few tears. Don't miss it!

Meet the Pavon-Villalobos Family

Ramiro was born in Tierra Blanca, Veracruz, Mexico and Reyna was born in Lomo Bonita Oaxaca, Mexico. Their children were all born in Chapel Hill. Their eldest son, Eric (not pictured) is 24 years old, Kevin is 19, and Lilibeth is 16. The family currently lives in a small apartment in Siler City and enjoys eating out, attending church, and visiting family. Ramiro works for a lumber processing company that produces flooring, and Reyna works in a factory sorting and packing those little dyed stones for aquariums - a job she's been doing for 14 years. The family are members of St. Julia Catholic Church in Siler City.

"We are very excited to know that we will have our own home," said Reyna. "We have plans to have a beautiful garden with plants, vegetable, and flowers."

Reyna also said that "starting this process with Habitat has given us peace. We are leaving an unhealthy environment. We can't wait to pay off our home so we can celebrate LO LOGRAMOS (WE MADE IT)!"

We Couldn't Have Done It Without...

The Hudson Foundation

Pictured here with the Pavon-Villalobos Family, the Board of The Hudson Foundation has extremely generously sponsored the full cost of construction for House 150. In a year when we've seen record-high construction costs, this gift has made a huge impact. We owe a huge thank you to The Hudson Foundation for their investment.

F3 Churham

F3 is a fitness group that focuses on 3 things: fitness, fellowship, and faith! They joined us for a workday this Summer.

 El Vínculo Hispano

El Vínculo Hispano / The Hispanic Liaison's Youth Leadership Program spent a day volunteering on House 150, which is extra special because Lilibet Pavon Villalobos is a member of the program. Her friends had a great time supporting their friend!

We owe an extra special thank you to all our regular volunteers who are on site every week, no matter the weather. We might not have a big group photo of you, but there's no way we could have built this house without you.

Thank you.
