Meet the Zavala Family

From left to right: Alan Daniel (17), Giselle (12), Yamilen (8), & Dora
Dora, a native of El Salvador, has worked at Weaver Street Market for the last eight years. She has three beautiful children: Alan Daniel, Giselle, and Yamilen. The whole family enjoys spending time outdoors, going for walks at the park, spending time at the lake, playing soccer, and spending time with their cat Paco. Alan enjoys spending time with his friends playing video games and football. Giselle is the musician in the family and plays the flute. Yamilen loves to draw and play outside.
Dora heard about Chatham Habitat through friends who own Habitat homes, and she is looking forward to having more space, comfort, and privacy in her new home. “My hope is to have our own place that we can call home and provide a better place to live,” says Dora.
We Couldn't Do It Without...
El Vínculo Hispano
El Vínculo Hispano / The Hispanic Liaison's Youth Leadership Program has been out to volunteer on this house once already, and they're planning to come back soon!

We owe an extra special thank you to all our regular volunteers and staff - Harvey, Walt, Efrain, and Doug who are on site every week, no matter the weather. We might not have a big group photo of you, but there's no way we could do this without you.
Thank you.
