What to Expect on the Worksite
Tips and Guidelines for Chatham Habitat for Humanity Volunteers
EXPERIENCE:
None needed, but skilled volunteers are always welcome. Training and supervision by experienced
leaders is always provided. Safety is stressed at all times.
WHO:
No children are allowed on the worksite. Volunteers under 16 may do non-construction projects.
TIPS:
- No open-toed shoes. Wear sturdy shoes or work boots.
- Chatham County clay stains clothes. Wear old clothes.
- Some volunteers bring two pairs of shoes. One to work in and one to drive in if the work shoes get muddy.
TOOLS:
We provide tools, but if you prefer to use your own hammer, tool belt, gloves, safety glasses, etc please bring them.
