volunteer: in the home stores
There is a task for nearly everyone who is willing to help at the Home Stores, from assisting customers to sprucing up the sales floor to preparing merchandise for re-sale. No retail experience is required.
You pick your own hours. Volunteers operating the cash registers choose from several shifts: Monday through Friday 10 am -12:30 pm, 12:30-3 pm, and 3-5:30 p.m.; and Saturdays 10 am - 12 pm, 12-2 pm, and 2-4 pm. Other volunteers can come any time during business hours - just let us know in advance.
Young people can also help out but we ask that if you are under age 18, you bring your parent or guardian with you.
Working at the Home Stores is a great way to meet people and build friendships while making a real difference in the community. Proceeds from the stores fund approximately four to six Habitat houses per year.
Contact us to set up an information and orientation session. We'll take you on a tour of the stores, introduce you to staff, and go over the Volunteer Handbook. If you are interested in operating the register, we'll train you and pair you with experienced volunteers for several shifts until you feel comfortable.
