Home Builders Blitz
Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz is the organization’s singlelargest one-week build event in its history. The week focuses on partnering professional builders, who donate their time and building materials, with Habitat affiliates to build affordable homes in the communities where they live and work.
The
Home Builders Association of Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties is the
driving force behind Chatham Habitat's Home Builders Blitz program. The organization
built 10 homes in just one week in Durham, Orange, and Chatham Counties in 2006 and 10 homes in 2008. The HBA-DOC has built and funded 8 homes in Chatham County so far.

National Women Build Week
Women volunteers come together in May during the days leading up to Mothers Day to learn construction skills and make a difference by building homes and communities. Women Build projects are regularly held by Habitat affiliates across the United States, and by Habitat organizations around the world. Women at these builds have furthered Habitat’s home-building mission by helping to construct more than 1,500 houses. Approximately 60 women in Chatham County participate each year.
