Volunteer Construction:
How To Get Involved

Volunteers are the backbone of Habitat for Humanity. On a good day with plenty of volunteers, we get more done than an average experienced work crew. That's why we encourage everybody to get involved, no matter what your level of experience. Old and young alike can benefit from the skills learned in one day at our construction site.
If you are interested in volunteering individually, or if you are part of an organization that would like to volunteer as a group, please call Construction Manager Gabriela Rife at (919) 650-8090. Everybody is welcome; no experience is necessary - just a good attitude and a willingness to help!

WHERE:
We are building in both
Pittsboro
and
Siler City
WHAT:
Volunteers frame, roof, trim out, install cabinets, windows, doors, paint and caulk, etc.
Tasks are available for all skill levels and interests.
WHEN:
Our scheduled workdays are Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday. You may volunteer as often as you wish
-- once a week, once a month, etc. You can even form a team with your friends and have a "work party"
a few times per year. Other workdays can be arranged for large groups.
WHY:
One of the keys to making our homes affordable is the extensive use of volunteer labor.
Volunteering on the construction site is a fun, sociable way to help a family realize their dream of
home ownership.
EXPERIENCE:
None needed, but skilled volunteers are always welcome. Training and supervision by experienced
leaders is always provided. Safety is stressed at all times.
WHO:
No children are allowed on the worksite. Volunteers under 16 may do non-construction projects.
